Default Gateway not Available since switching to windows 10

I switched to windows 10 about 9 months ago and ever since my connection has been dropping in and out, It gets better when I reset my modem but even then it is slow, My network adaptor is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, I am connected using ethernet through the power line but wifi with an external usb adaptor doesn't work either. Troubleshooting says Default gateway not available, it usually says not fixed, although once it randomly said fixed.

I had this exact same issue with a Dell laptop which has an Intel wireless adapter.

What fixed it for me was changing the Power Saving options for my wireless adapter to Maximum Performance. You can follow the steps in this article: Fix Wireless Limited Access Default Gateway Not Available Windows 10 - TeckLyfe
