Can't share printer on my 10 with a win7 computer on the same network.

I HATE modern networking with every fiber of my being. Once upon a time, networking was simple. To support huge corporate networks Microsoft has made it into a nightmare for home users.

Since I've upgraded from 8.1 to 10 my wife's win7 computer can no longer use the printer on my computer. I've run down every rabbit hole I found on Google to no avail. You are my last hope. How do I fix it so she can use my printer???

NOTE: for what it's worth I can use the printer on her computer.

I don't know what network capable means, but everything was working before I upgraded to win10

My networking is done using a Comcast Modem/Router if that helps

    Make / Model.

Network capable - Has an Ethernet port / wifi. Can be placed on the local network as a stand alone network printer - thus making sharing it unnecessary and undesirable.

Start with basics, on your system re-share it out to everyone, no password, etc.

On an aside, printer sharing is not modern networking (by a longshot).

if you had a network capable printer, you install the SW on both machines, and both have access, no need for the computer it is attached to to be on for the other to have access, and less headaches than sharing.

I don't know what that means

If it's what it sounds like I would love to do that

I see copy 1 in your sharing for the listed printer, likely you have two of them listed in printers.

Turn off all sharing and reboot. Uninstall all instances of the printer, then reboot, allow 10 to discover the printer and install a driver, if it does not, then grab a driver from the Canon website for your make and model and install. Reboot.

Then retry the sharing procedure given thru the link above.

I only have the one that's listed. Why can't I share it?
