I am new to this forum. I registered because the two Nasses I have were invisible after a clean install of Windows 10. I could solve the problem with the information provided in this thread: Activate NetBIOS via TCP/IP.

    Thanks.

    Joop.

    Hello All,

I've tried everything I can find on the internet and I can NOT map my network drives. Actually, it was all working fine up until today. I fired up my laptop to do some work and my network drives weren't mapped. Now I can't map any of my network drives. I can see the other computers. I can not access them though.

Any help is appreciated. Please and thank you in advance.

Go back to post #23 on this thread and try doing the fix ("NetBIOS via TCP/IP") stated there.

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't being overly dramatic in my post so I apologize if it came off that way. I already tried that. I meant that I have "literally" tried every solution I could find through Google until steps and solutions started repeating themselves. Thank you again. Any and all help is appreciated.

Sorry for the double-post, but I thought this might be important or pertinent. I can still see the wireless Epson printer on my network. The laptop will still connect to it. I can click on it and I see there is a Memory Card slot available. Thank you.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention; I can browse to the laptop from the other (2) Win10 computers. They are both desktops. Although one can browse the shared folder and subfolders and the other will only browse to the root shared folder - no access to the subfolder. Thank you.

You may have to go to the sub-folders and set up share permission for the win 10 PC.

Yes, everything is already setup to work correctly. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my first post: Everything was working fine (for the last two weeks or so...since the release of Win10...) on all the computers (2 desktops and 1 laptop) until yesterday.

Everything is networked fine - working fine with all (3) PCs on Win10 - file sharing working great - yesterday I fired up my laptop to work in my living room - what previously was mapped and working fine is no longer working and I get the same errors initially described by the original post of this thread.

    Thank you.

    The driver update fix

    Hi Everyone,

So recently I deployed win 10 to a few test machines in my office and had the issue of not being able to access the network share ie \\USA\Shared or \\FRANCE\Shared but \\ENGLAND\Shared worked fine as it was my local Share. This was only on my Dell Optiplex 990 which is using the Intel 82579LM Gigabit NIC. The laptops access the network shares fine. I looked at the reg HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\..... fix and also that the right network services were running. Myself and my colleague in Shanghai thought it might be DNS issues but NSLookup was resolving perfectly. Then I had an idea. i went to: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/47549/Intel-82579-Gigabit-Ethernet-Controller where Intel have released new versions of the Network card within days of each other. There was obviously some issues. After an update of the drivers and reboot my non local Shares are working perfectly. I hope this is of some help and will save you some work ;-)

    Kind regards, William

Not saying it is your problem but only takes a few minutes to check.

Sorry to resurrect, but I seriously CANNOT map my NAS drive. They were working fine up until a week ago. And now it can't connect at all. Win7/8 can connect fine. Any thoughts?
