AWESOME!!! This FIX with the merging of the "new" regedit has resolved the similar issue i was facing for months. New drivers , new USB wifi dongle, multiple different tips used and nothing worked except this regedit of the winsock entry!
    Thanks for the TIP!!!

This fixed my PC slow internet. The problem I was having: After a reboot, the internet would be ok, 230mbps download. After about five minutes the download speed would be about 30mbps. This was driving me crazy for months.
Exporting the old Winsock.reg and Winsock2.reg, and then merging the ones I downloaded fixed it! I know this is an old thread, but still works today!
    Thanks!

Download the 2 files from this post, and right click merge.

Thanks to OP, this worked for me in 2020! Seems like the latest windows update dropped my win 10 device to a 200mbps limit. The fix bumped me back up to my regular 500mbps!

I faced similar problem for some weeks now and the technicians came in twice and wasn't able to fix my issue. They tested my Wi-Fi on their computers, and they worked fine. So finally I fixed my own issue with your method and voilà! It worked. Thank a lots!

I would really like someone to hack those hex values into human readable values.

Seeing all these claims of success gave me hope, but alas, no such luck. Stuck with 4 Mbps instead of my usual 100-200.

    Try the following -

Open an Elevated (Run as administrator) Command prompt -

Type netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt , and then press Enter.

netsh interface ipv4 reset, press Enter.

    If you use IPv6 -

netsh interface ipv6 reset, press Enter

    Finally -

    ipconfig /flushdns, press Enter

    Restart your computer.

For the last month and 1/2 at 4pm plus or minus 15 minutes the Internet (Spectrum) slows down drastically from 220+ mb/sec to 5 or even zero. When stopping completely the cable modem self-reboots

My phone, with a cell connection also slows down around that time but rarely stops working completely.

This is on the West Coast (California, PST) in the northern part of southern California

Anyone know what is going on?
