Well, seeing as how it worked under Ubuntu, no, I don't think it was disconnected.
Reinstall Linux or buy a USB AC Wifi Dongle ?
Move back to Win8 ?
sorry I can't help more.....
None of those are viable solutions. Need to stay on Windows, hate Windows 8, can't afford a WiFi dongle right now. Would love to fix this problem without resorting to those solutions.
Try a clean install of Win10 ? perhap get a 1511 ISO if possible not a 1607/AU one ...
don't have to spend alot to get wifi these days $15-20?

or Amazon.com: NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi USB 2.0 Adapter - AC Dual Band (A6200-100PAS): Computers Accessories
What version are you on? (win key +R , type winver then enter)
How are you going to download a 4GB iso? another Computer? or you on your phone?
Did you try an Inplace Upgrade yet ?

Older MCT Tool perhaps might work..... but it may pull the Current files too?

I save the iso's just incase as M$ pulls older versions unless you have MSDN I think. But there will be 3rd Party sites that have it , just not sure how reputable they all are? eg below....
Microsoft Windows 10 TH2 ISO Download • Windows ISO

Is that the laptop or Desktop WINVER ? that is the very latest 1607 Update
Then try the links for 1511 TH2
if you download the file from windowsiso , once you have it RC on the ISO and choose Open with File Explorer , this will mount the ISO and it will look like a DVD/CD in File Explorer , then get your Virus and Malware scanner to check the ISO/CD Drive. To Unmount the ISO ,just RC the Drive in File Explorer and Choose Eject, like a normal CD . Once done you can use RUFUS to copy the ISO to a USB Drive for install or Burn the ISO to a DVD.
