How to connect an internal Fax-Modem to a PC via USB?

My new pc doesn't have a PCI slot to accommodate my old Fax-Modem. I certainly don't use the modem, but it can be handy to Fax sometimes.
I thought there might be a way to connect it to my new pc via USB?
Or any other way for that matter.

Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.

You cannot. No one really uses fax services built into laptops, because they are made to be portable. You will find more people using fax services like Myfax.com. Businesses use dedicated Fax servers that send and receive all faxes and utilize a network scanner to copy the document in as a PDF and then send it via email or through SIP.

I deleted my earlier post. I'm sorry, I failed to see the computer in question was a laptop; I was thinking desktop.

Do you have Windows Fax and Scan located under Windows accesories?

If you have Windows Fax and Scan located under Windows accessories and you have an empty USB port on your PC I don't see why you couldn't do a fax. There are USB Fax Modems available. I know my old laptop has the necessary items to do a fax.

The issue is that they do not work with Digital or VoIP phone service.

POTS is going the way of the Dodo bird. AT&T is already in progress of getting rid of all POTS connections at the house and placing iNID's like Verizon has done for their FiOS, same as Google with Google Fiber. Only thing is that those Telco's that are sticking with Copper to the Premise, it is a Dry loop system.

Actually, up until a few months ago, I had an internal fax/modem on a W8.1 rig hooked up to my home line which is serviced by an OBi device, which I use with a Google Voice number as my home phone, and the fax worked just fine. I have since changed rigs, and will be attaching a USB fax device to do the same thing. Since OBi use Google Voice+my internet connection, it is "VoIP", so I can confirm that it does work.
