File-sharing on laptop not working after new router installed...

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd left all of my Windows networking issues back in the past, but apparently not!

I recently upgraded my wireless router and since then I haven't been able to connect to file-shares on a laptop (running Windows 11) from my Windows 10 desktyop PC (connected to the router via ethernet cable)

I can connect to all the shares on my other 2 desktop PCs (ethernet cable) and also a wireless desktop PC (Windows 10) and each of these computers can also see the shares on my main desktop computer.

I can see the name of the laptop in Windows Explorer, but when I click on it, I get the usual delay, then an error saying "The network path cannot be found".

I can, however, see and access all of the other PC shares from the offending windows 11 laptop.

When I run network diagnostics on my main desktop PC, it does find an issue with the connection to the laptop:

"file and print sharing resource (LAPTOP1) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts.

The remote computer isn’t responding to connections on port 445, possibly due to firewall or security
policy settings, or because it might be temporarily unavailable.
Windows couldn’t find any problems with the firewall on your computer."

At least this is something to work on, I guess.

There have been no changes to any settings on any of the machines. The only change was the physical installation of the new router.

Can anyone suggest with setting to check / change on the Windows 11 laptop?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions - still no luck...

I can ping the Win 11 laptop from my other machines and (as mentioned) the Win 11 laptop can access the network shares on all of my other desktops and laptop) see it in explorer, just continue to get the message "The network path was not found"...

I suspect it's something obvious and/or simple, but I'm stumped at the moment.
