    Computer name 15 characters

When I first got my new machine it asked as part of all the setup for a computer name/description for network purposes. As the brand was PC specialist I just called it Wayne-Specialist. But of course in networks only max of 15 characters is supported so I quite often see the computer referred to as Wayne-specialis whereby it drops the last letter. So if I go into network and see the list of all the devices my machine is referred to in this shortened name. It's not a problem and I haven't seen any side effects as yet. But are there any issues by having it like this? IE, the longer name and then the shortened name? Should I be looking to rename it to something shorter so the names match? If there is no problem keeping as it is I will leave it alone as it would save hassle of changing our apps in things like our iOS devices whereby they can browse shared folders on my machine. It is interesting that my iOS apps all see the computer by its full 'Wayne-specialist' name rather than 'Wayne-specialis'

    cheers, Wayne
