    Network advice needed

    He is what I have, three computer's on home network,they are hardwired to a Linksys Router. I can share files between them without problems. Have no cable where I live,use a Verizon Hotspot from my phone for internet. I use a Netgear WNDA3100 adapter for a connection. I can use one or other and they work find,why can I have them both working at same time? To get internet working I have to turn off the Linksys router,seems like both should be able to run at same time. If I get it working then updates will go to all computers on network. I did not have this problem with windows7,guessing it something I need to do in Windows10. All advice welcome.

    Your problem does not need anyone who is an "Expert". An expert in networking, is one who maintains large Domains, Radius, VoIP, etc..

    What you really need to state is what is your problem, what are you trying to accomplish. Your biggest issue is that you are using a Gateway that is intended for DSL, CATV, Fiber Optic based networks. The Vz Hotspot alone has its only Hotspot that limits a certain number of connections to it. If you are trying to expand the footprint of the Hotspot, it will not work with conventional hardware.

    You need to locate the Hotspot in a better area and up a little higher. Also it has nothing to do with Windows 10. Suggest you check the Verizon forums or go into one of their store locations and have someone assist you with your issues with the Hotspot that they sold you.

    The Hotspots, Jetpacks, Mifi's are crippled to only allow a small number of connections to them, because they are not meant to replace a wired Highspeed connection to a residence or business. They are meant to be taken on the go with you.

    I will try to explain better,have 3 computers network together with a Linksys Router. They are all hardwired to router,my main computer is the only computer that uses the VZ hotspot. I can not get on internet if the Linksys router is on,if I turn the power off to it my WNDA3100 netgear works perfect for internet. When I had windows7 the Linksys Router was on and I could still use the WNDA3100 to connect to internet without problem. Now it one or the other ?

    There is nothing to explain better. See what I posted above. The answer cannot change, because what you are trying to do, cannot be done with those portable hotspots.

    Hotspots have very limited bandwidth and use the same parts that cellphones do for data transmission. They are not made to take the place of a wired high speed connection.

    If I am understanding this right you are connecting with the USB WiFi connected to the computer to your phones WiFi, If that is the case then when you are connected to the phones WiFi and the Internet connection is working properly open up Network connections by pressing the
    Code:
    Windows Key + R
    Then type or paste this into the Run Command Box
    Code:
    ncpa.cpl
    You should end up with something that looks the pic below, Right click on your WiFi adapter and select properties.

    I hope the below pic explains it properly

    Expert Network advice needed-select-adapter-share-.png

    But Wait
    You might want to do this first

    You only said your router was a Linksys router so I am going to guess that the default IP of your router's Lan port is either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

    You are going to have to change a few settings on your router because by default (ICS (Internet connection sharing)) will give your network a 192.168.137.1-254 IP. It will handle the DHCP for that subnet

    Before you follow my advice above you should change your router's setting's, Because when your subnet changes from 192.168.x.x to 192.168.137.x the 192.168.x.x will unreachable

    Turn off DHCP for the lan or set it to something high like 192.168.137.180 - 192.168.137.253
    IP = 192.168.137.11
    Subnet = 255.255.255.0
    Gateway = 192.168.137.1

    Sorry for taking so long to answer but when I stared answering stuff happened then I fell asleep then I pressed submit reply so if there is some mistakes I should be able to figure it out

    made this pic just in case i'm wrong save this Pic to your computer and use Window's paint to say how you connection is .

    If you use this method make sure you say what is connecting to what.
    IE:

    WAN= RED
    LAN = Blue
    USB = Yellow
    WiFi = A big lightning strike ( or squiggle lines your choice)
    What connects to the net = Green

    sml156 they cannot do what you stated with the Vz Hotspot/Jetpack. It is crippled to not allow people to do more then the limited number of connections that is built into the software. The same goes with smartphones and laptops. The do that, so that you do not cripple the connection with more devices then the Hotspot and the Cellular connection it goes through.

    Going back to Square 1 on this setup. Have a Linksys Router WRT54GL ,have three computers hardwired to the router. Why can't I see the computer in the network.? Should I be able to do this hardwired? Forget about image,fixed

    When he was alternating, not when he tries to use both at once.

    The only way that I can even think that he could get it to work, would be to use a router/gareway like the Cisco RV-320 thatI have, which allows for fallback on a Cellular data hotspot. Problem is that like the Cisco, only certain devices will work for the fallback.

    This is the list of compatible USB fallback devices for the RV-320/325 series. Dongle Support on the RV320 and RV325
