Should I be worried I can see a smart device that is not mine?

It is because the neighbors have the tv set to allow second screen. Take a walk and introduce yourself to them, explain nicely that your computer is picking up their tv.

Allow them to let you show them how to lock the tv to not allow anyone from being able to connect to it.

A lot of people that get the Smart TV's, just plug them in and do not access the smart features, or may not know how to lock down guest access.
Must recheck that one on mine again, in case.

That has nothing to do with the Smart TV using a Beacon to tell Miracast capable devices that it is available to stream to.

Miracast is nice if you have a reason to use it. But with that Beacon alive telling any and all devices that can pick it up, is not always a good thing. Too easy to find a vulnerability and push any contact that someone wants to show on a tv.

I turned mine off on my Amazon Fire TV box, Blu-Ray and Smart TV, since we do not do any Second screen device connections on any of them.

I was not aware of Miracast, but better encryption may help with certain other devices accessing your WiFi. Thanks for info i see Windows 10 does have this Miracast.

If your "Windows Connect Now" service is running, it is prefectly normal (albeit annoying) to see third-party wireless devices (mobile phones mostly) in your netweok neigborhood.
