Hello, I just had this very annoying issue for a while, and scouring the internet proved to no avail. However, I stumbled upon the solution by myself. Simply go into an elevated command prompt and enter netsh int ipv4 install and restart your computer.

This is what solved the problem for me, though I had already tried a few suggestions (resetting winsock, giving permissions in NSI, etc) so that might have something to do with it. If moderators are displeased with me making a new thread about it, the please move it to where it should be.

    Best of luck.
It's work for me. Thank's for sharing this solution.

One or more network protocols are missing

I used my new pc for 6 days and it was fine: downloaded Windows 10, Open Office, etc and the wifi was perfect.
Just once I lost wifi, rebooted and it was fine again.

Then while working online I got this problem. I have followed the advice (which has worked for some)
    - elevated command prompt
    - netsh int ipv4 install
    - reboot

Still failed. I also disabled ipv6. No good.

Note that my problem affects wifi and also LAN connection with cable.

    Any other ideas please?

When I tried it, I got the message "The following command was not found: int ipv4 all."

Ran it with admin command prompt from system32 folder. netsh.exe is there, but apparently the script (or whatever) is missing. I'm on Windows 10 Home, version 1511, build 10586.36.

Are you sure you wrote install as the last word? From your post, it seems you wrote netsh int ipv4 all, which is not a command.

Yes, it would affect both your wifi and your LAN cable as the problem is that windows doesnt have/cant access/has wrong network protocols. What the command does is install or reinstalls the ipv4, which theoretically should give windows ipv4 protocols back. You could try

    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /renew

    Though i doubt it'll work.

Thanks. I had typed the command incorrectly. However, it didn't fix the problem. I still don't have internet access, troubleshooter shows missing protocols, windows sockets registry entries missing.

not an expert, but had a similar problem with troubleshooter telling me I was missing network protocols and could not fix it automatically. A search turned up this, and it worked for me, maybe it is the same as what has already been suggested,

    from the admin command prompt

    netsh winsock reset catalog
    netsh int ip reset
    ipconfig /flushdns

    then restart

did not try the following but some folks suggested trying a system file repair, if the preceding does not work,

    sfc scannow

recommend read about this prior to trying, I did not try it.

Thanks Aurthur. I tried that and it didn't change anything. The SFC scan showed no errors.

Thanks for the reply. I have gone back to Windows 7 and everything is fine. Perhaps it will be safe to upgrade to 10 by the July deadline?

I'm not an expert, so don't know what "elevated command prompt" is. Is that command prompt as an administrator?
