Where the H did this come from?

My computer had gone to sleep for a couple of hours. When I brought it up again and looked at my desktop, a Homegroup icon now appears on it. I cannot delete or move it. I don't have a Homegroup. Where did this come from? There were no updates processed recently. In fact I have updates basically shut off unless I check for updates? The last update I received was one for MS Office 2010 Outlook a couple of days ago (which is strange since I don't have Outlook). I looked at the Reliability Monitor and nothing of substance appears there. How do I get rid of this?

Never mind. I recall trying to start a Homegroup a few years ago on this PC. Network and Sharing indicated that I had joined a Homegroup but I never tried to use it. I went through the process of leaving the Homegroup and that was successful. The icon is now gone. Why it all of a sudden decided to popup is beyond me.
