No i'm not using any WIFI extender at all, When i done the speed test with the ethernet cable i also ran a wireless speed test next to the router with the same low speeds.

I've been on windows 10 now for a while without any problems, It's the latest one which installs cortana and the windows defender stuff that has caused some sort of a problem. Just don't know what it has changed.

So you have a modem and a router, and your phone is still getting full speed WiFi? Can you click to connect your Dell PC via WiFi to your modem instead of the router? If so, and if you get full speed there, then it's likely the Win 10 update is not playing nice with the router.

I do believe there is a way to uninstall the Win 10 update and go back to where you were before the slowdown if you wish. Personally, I don't use Cortana or Defender anyway.

    Hey,
Get latest Dell wireless driver(no matter what is your wireless adapter)
    After that do this:
    1) Go to Network and Sharing Center
    2) Change adapter settings
    3) Right click on Wi-Fi adapter, select properties
    4) Click on configure, then go to advanced tab
    5)Property:802.11n Value: 20/40 Auto
If you don't get the latest wireless driver the last option didn't add in Property.

That might make sense as I don't have the 20/40 auto option...just 20ghz or auto show up...I'll try that when I get home thanks.

    any time!
as i say this 20/40 Auto will not add till you install latest dell wireless driver/or intel wireless driver depend on your network adapter manufacturer which i think it's dell. just google it: dell latest network driver! after install , that option(20/40 Auto) will add to the list.
