Network Protocols Missing

I have not had Windows 10 for 30 days yet and already it has given me the "winsock protocols" error message. This PC does not have wi-fi, so it is only ethernet which connects to network (as public even though I keep resetting to private), but no internet. I have tried some of the various fixes to no avail. I am seriously considering reverting back to Window 8.1.
With that said, there are a few other things to look at. The last Windows update to build 1511 (I only have a few since it's new) was KB3152599. This update cannot be uninstalled. There was also a Cumulative (Security) update KB3156421. I uninstalled that update by off chance that it might be the culprit. There is no change in the situation.
So I decided to check my other Win 10 PC. The sick one is a Gateway using Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet. This one is a Dell XPS using Atheros Wi-fi. Both have the same build and the updates have been applied to both. The Dell is experiencing no problems. I did update the driver for the Marvell as well.
My question then is this - Can I export the winsock keys from my Dell to my Gateway? Or should I just revert back to Win 8.1 and call it a day? BTW, my husband has two HP PC's running Windows 8.1. Should I try export/import from there?

Okay I am answering part of my own question here. I tried the export/import of the winsock registries from Dell to Gateway and then reseting. Nothing changed. I have noticed however that occassionally I have to reset my FireTV's (I have three) because it keeps trying to connect to an old network that no longer exists. Maybe the problem then is that Windows also has a problem "forgetting" invalid networks unless you specifically tell it to forget it. I went to my Dell, found the manage networks and told it to forget outdated networks. But that is Wi-Fi, and I can't seem to figure out how to do it on ethernet. Are these old networks listed in the registry somewhere that can be manually deleted?

Again answering my own post. Could not find listing of non-existant networks in the registry. I decided the problem may be with the ethernet port itself because even though I was"connected" to the network, I could not access my network printer. I then went out and bought a Wi-Fi stick and viola! I have full network and internet access. I left the Dell winsock registries in place too. So my problem is solved for me, but I'm still befuddled about it all. My best advice is to check all hardware and connections. Good luck!

If problems arise delete the two Winsock folders you added to the registry and merge the ones that you saved.

Are these attached files (Winsock.reg and Winsock2.reg) from a native Windows 10 (not an upgrade from 7 or 8)? And are they from a 32 or 64 bit version?

Somebody elsewhere stressed that we should import 32/64 versions exactly as on our Windows 10 versions as we have on our PCs.

Also I tried to import 64 bit registry from 8.1 PC to my Win10/64 PC and I have noticed that 8.1 version references dlls which are not present on my Win10 PC.
