Are you sure it's in airplane mode? Is wireless actually off? Reason I ask - since the TH2 update, my particular laptop (Dell), upon a restart, will show the airplane mode button lit in the action center (not the system tray) as if it was on, but it's actually not - wi-fi is fine. If I cycle airplane mode to actually on and then off again, then the airplane mode button ends up dim again as it should be when off.

Hi that's it exactly it's highlighted blue I just got it back from repair and Notifications has changed order. Flight mode is on it's own at the very bottom, with the rest stacked on top of it is there a way to rearrange them? But the only thing is that my WiFi is also enabled along with my Location is this the same as you my friend?

Yep, exactly the same. I don't see any way to rearrange them other than (in Settings/System/Notifications & actions) you can select which 4 show on the top row - I have 13 showing in action center and they can be collapsed (to show only top 4) or expanded (to show all 13).

I consider this new behavior of airplane mode button a bug and would be interested to know if there's a way to fix it - otherwise I won't let it bother me and see if MS fixes it in an update or a new build.

So far, I've only seen discussion of it in this thread: Wrong status of airplane mode - where forum member razrh has the same problem. There are other threads where members mention it being on when it shouldn't but it's not clear that it's merely a button color status problem. I'll let you know if I find anything and hope you'll do same for us here.

Holly - so get this: If I select the airplane mode button as one of the top 4 in the action center (via Settings/System/Notifications & actions, "Choose your quick actions"), the airplane mode button behaves appropriately upon startup. Strange - I think I'll leave it there among top four as, it's one of the ones I'm more likely to use anyways. Still think it's a bug though to behave as it does when not pinned as a "quick action".

OK buddy thank you. I think it will have to be a windows update. Do you get a lot of things not responding in Windows 10? And do you know how to completely remove all McAfee leftover files?

Hi, Holly. No, Windows 10 TH2 is otherwise behaving fine for me, fortunately - so far... LOL. Now my Bluetooth button is lit inappropriately after moving airplane to top 4 - I'm following up in that other thread I post a link to above.

For McAfee cleanup, I'm pretty sure I started at this page: https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter...3D10q9o17aze_4 . I had mine preinstalled on the Dell laptop I'm using now and used this procedure (the MCPR) to wipe it out AFTER I had activated the trial subscription. Hope it works as well for you.

    Hi, Paul.

TH2 is the big fall update everyone was waiting for. The initial Release To Market version of Windows 10 was build 10240 - released 29 July 2015. This new release (referred to many as TH2, short for Threshold 2) was released to public back around November 13, numbered build 10586. I think the full numbered build at that point was 10586.3.

Since then, that build was pulled by Microsoft from Windows Update and then most Media Creation Tool avenues, and maybe from the TechBench avenue (these are all alternate sources for Windows 10 public releases). THEN the 10586 build was restored by Microsoft to all of these avenues. There are lots of threads here expressing concern, frustration, and other attitudes with these developments and I may not have exact dates. Suffice it to say all seems to be back on track with "TH2" (another moniker will be version 1511, short for 2015 November build). Nonetheless, I have a few niggling issues with the latest build that weren't there in the prior build 10240.

There have been subsequent Windows Updates rolled out to move the Windows 10 version up from 10586.3 to version 10586.11, and finally 10586.14 - which is the build I have right now (and hasn't resolved this annoyance with airplane mode button coloration for me). You can check your build by entering the following at an elevated (admin) command prompt: winver
