Thank you to all for the input on this thread, you have got me closer than any of the other fixes have been able to

    I now have

two machines that can see and browse the other two PCs and one that can browse one but not the other

Previously two machines could see each other but neither could browse the third and the third could see but not browse anything except itself

As others have already said this is ridiculous, and the solution SHOULD have been to revert to an earlier version of the problem files rolled out as an "update" until the problem was fixed properly

Instead they seem to keep sending out updates that either do nothing to solve this problem, and in some cases actually make things worse for peoples whilst either not responding to the threads on the Microsoft site at all, or telling people to check drivers and spurious (and often unrelated) settings

At least now I can (mostly) use my three PCs although I will have to copy from PC 1 to PC 2 so I can then copy a file from PC 2 to PC 3 which is just nuts really.

But I think my problems now are related to homegroup as I have some ghost homegroup and some hidden file that lists PCs I haven't owned for years and a ghost homegroup that I cant seem to get rid of

But hopefully this will now be either easier or "possible" to fix after following your solutions to this problem

Many thanks and booooo Microsoft lol, if I wanted to be a beta tester I would have applied to be one, I don't expect to be one when I purchase a "finished" product :)

    Is there really a fix?

I have now done a fresh install of build 11102 in a Hyper-V VM, and it seems that everything in Network Neighborhood is normally visible.

I could not find any KB article mentioning this, though.

    Has anyone seen this too?

This will fix the SMB issue until MS patches the problem - open a administrator command prompt and type the following hitting enter after each line.

    sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
    sc.exe config mrxsmb20 start= disabled

    then Restart the computer

To reverse this change and re-enable SMBv3 run the following commands at at the elevated command prompt

    sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/mrxsmb20/nsi
    sc.exe config mrxsmb20 start= auto

    then Restart the computer

Wow thanks a lot for this,

    Issue Fixed

My browsing issue was fixed by last night's windows 10 updates. I also have an asus laptop that began to browse the network successfully about a week ago.

This is back on Windows Insider build 14915 and the "fix" does not work, anyone any ideas?

    Network browsing issue revisited

Both build 14393.0 (which seems to be the official anniversary update) and Insider build 14901.1000 do not show this problem. I don't have a later build yet.

It seems to be something bizarre. The developers cannot really control it.

I already have the habit of adding shortcuts to frequently used shares under Quick Access, so it does not bother me too much.

This is because Microsoft changed from smb2 to smb3.
    Try this.......

Command prompt / administrator and type two lines together like that :

    sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
    sc.exe config mrxsmb20 start= disabled

    Reboot the pc when done.
