    Wrong status of airplane mode

    Hello.

I am using hp 14-r029tx and windows 10 pro. The problem is, I have my wifi on. But the airplane mode status shows activated which means airplane mode is on. If my wifi is on then how come airplane mode is also on? attaching a screenshot. Sometimes wifi takes too much time to load and sometimes have to reboot also. my wifi adapter is QUALCOMM Atheros qca 9565 with Bluetooth.

I think the blue color on airplane mode stands for "click to enable". What happens if you click the button? Is there any message or indication you are in flight mode? I have no Wi-Fi at the moment, so I cannot test it and tell you.

Maybe it's a programming error with Microsoft. I get the same thing:

No it is OK. Airplane mode is off means you can connect to internet. On means you cannot.

Welcome to TenForums - and I have same wrongness on this as you razrh - it's pretty d--- annoying.

My Wifi starts out colored every time I restart Windows and it is ON. My Airplane mode button ALSO starts out colored in when I start WIndows and it is definitely OFF - even though the colored status meant it was ON in previous builds. IOW, both buttons are colored in normal startup mode where WiFi is ON and Airplane mode is OFF - shouldn't be that way.

If I either cycle Wifi off then on or cycle airplane mode on then off again - the Wifi button will be colored to indicate on (as it should) and the airplane mode button will be unlit to indicate it is off (as it should) and I am connected to wireless then.

This showed up when I upgraded to Win 1511/10586 (Home, not Pro) whereas is behaved correctly in Win RTM/10240. Just another one of those less than satisfying aspects of TH2, probably part of why it seems to have been pulled from Techbench and MCT (hopefully not replaced until there's a more appropriately behaving build released).

If I click the blue button airplane mode activates and the button stays blue. Yes, its a bug I think. Its happening after upgrading to threshold 2.

    Airport mode w/ wifi active

Unplug the USB cable from your UPS if you have one and reboot. I fought this for days and I think the UPS battery makes the desktop think it's a lappy, don't know but do know it worked for me. I"d appreciate hearing if this works for others or if it was just me. Plugging in the USB cable afterwards did not reinstate the fault.

Can you try pulling the battery, pull the AC and hold the power button for 15 seconds or so and then reconnecting things? It'll only waste a few minutes. Good luck. Sorry, I missed that it was a laptop.
