You'll need to do some research, and as I've stated numerous times, any large retailer would be fine, just as I mentioned you should call your OEM's tech support # and ask them if the dual and triple slotted M.2 WiFi cards matter.

Also, it's quite irritating when someone posts information that is then subsequently ignored. Did you bother to read the article I referenced in my previous post?

Where are the TCP/IP settings in windows 10

I have gone through my control panel but cannot find the screen that you show to adjust these settings.
Can you point me to it?

My problem is not the same as OP since I can connect to internet just fine, but since it's related to Treshold 2 update and networking I'll post this here anyway.

My problem after the update was connecting to computers on my network from network browser. I would get this error:

    Attachment 51325

Trying to diagnose the problem I get this:

    Attachment 51326

    Further details show this:

    Attachment 51327

Trying to fix it does not work.

Again, no such problems before the 1511 update. I first noticed, the problem only manifested itself if I used a static IP on my computer. Switching back, to obtain IP automatically, fixes it.

Upon further investigation it seems this bug is related to NetBIOS over TCP/IP. If it's disabled, problem disappears. It seems it's enabled by deafault when using static IP.

    Attachment 51329

I also disabled LMHOSTS lookup but I don't think it's related to this. Hope this helps somebody.

Can you please advise where on a win 10 computer the screens that you refer to are for TCP/IP ? I have searched my machine with no success.

If you're asking how to access network diagnostics (the 2nd & 3rd images)
    • Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Network and Internet

If you're asking how to access adapter properties to disable NetBIOS (4th image)
    • Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
      • Highlight IPv4
        • Properties - Advanced - WINS

What exactly are you having an issue with?

I have a My Cloud drive that the network will not recognise. Works fine if I plug it into a computer network card. When I run the network trouble shooter, I gate a message like "Missing protocols on this computer." Your post looks like a possible solution.
Will advise when I have managed to apply it. At work now.

The protocol error is a bug in Windows and is not likely to be the source of your issue. Essentially, Windows believes a specific group policy option has been set, which it's not, and this is the most likely cause of the protocol error. If it isn't actually causing any network issues, don't attempt to fix it.
    • Albeit it should me mentioned others have had this specific error message occur after installing VPN software, as it appears the installation of a virtual TAP adapter can cause this issue as well

As to your network problem... have you verified via your router's WebAdmin GUI that it sees and can communicate with the cloud drive? If it can, have you tried pinging it from your PC? If the router sees it and has assigned it an IP, but you are unable to connect to that IP, I'd take a look at your firewall.

    • If you're unable to get it to work after the above, could you please post the following info:
Please also include the netmask for any IP listed; unless you've changed the netmask manually, it's probably 255.255.255.0
      • Router IP (should start with 192, 172. or 10)
      • Cloud Drive IP
      • PC IP
      • Router Model
      • Cloud Drive Model
      • Firewall being used on PC

This post is in reference to original topic "One or more network protocols are missing on this computer".

    Background
I got a Dell laptop from a customer that after a Windows 10 update the networking stopped working. Using the troubleshooting gives:

"One or more network protocols are missing on this computer"

    and more detail shows:

"Windows Sockets Registry Entries Required for Network Connectivity are missing".

I did many hours of Googling and tried all the netsh commands, Fix TCPIP programs, etc. The laptop was using Defender for virus protection but when I went into network properties I noticed the following item:

    Avast! Firewall Driver

I downloaded and ran the avastclear.exe program and after it did its thing and rebooted my network was working again.

I hope this helps someone and save them time.
