    Problems connecting to wireless printer

We have a new (albeit old) wireless printer (HP Color laserjet CP3525) with a wireless adapter card. Computers running Windows 7 or Windows 8 could see the network and connect. All computers could then print to the printer. None of our computers running Windows 8.1 could see the network. I upgraded one computer to Windows 10. It can now see the printer network but cannot connect. Any suggestions or ideas of what is wrong and/or how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.

What is the brand and model of the wireless adapter card? You may have to go to the manufacturer's website and get Windows 10 supported driver or whatever latest driver they have.

The adapter card, like the printer is old and there are no drivers listed specifically for Windows 10. That must be the problem since all computers using Windows 7 or 8 work fine. Only Windows 8.1 and 10 cannot not connect. Thanks.

My experience with printers [and other devices] is that using the proper version of drivers is important. If the version of Windows is 32-bit one needs 32-bit drivers, if Windows is 64-bit then 64-bit drivers are needed.

How about your router? Does it have a USB port? If so, that can also be used to share printers.

Aside from the driver question or option of sharing from another machine, and as many people don't find network behavior the same as they're used to in Win 7 or Win 8/8.1, I'll ask if you tried the add printer wizard and simply are not finding it on the network. Determine through the router or printer itself what private IP address it has - may be best, if you haven't done so, to assign a fixed IP address to the printer through the router. In the Add printer wizard you can either give a network device name (probably HPXXXXX) or an IP address to look for it at. This is route I chose to go to attach my HP Photosmart C7280 printer to my laptop once I clean installed Win 10.

Incidentally, I just added a printer to an ipad. There is no option to add printer but the way I did it is I downloaded an epson app and it's flawless. You might wanna try looking for hp printing app on WinStore.

All of my wireless printer issues were resolved using Google Chrome as a search engine when wanting to print directly from email or the interenet. Microsoft edge seemed to be my problem. Hope this helps some I saw with same issues when I was seeking a solution. Happened on the Google Chrome randomly. All the Best...WasAllMine
