What crazy world are we living in when we can no longer easily send multiple files from a common smart phone (S5) to win10?
Way to go microsoft! Thanks for wasting yet another afternoon on what should be an easy task. I guess i'll figure out the answer one day when I have spare time to download a whole lot of third part crap to get something like this simple task to work. How many more annoying things am I going to come across with win10? There's always another surprise around the corner and it's driving me insane! Do they even consider what people might want to still be able to do before they stuff it all up with a stupid 'upgrade' things that used to work well on xp or win7 will now take you a whole day to figure out. Stupid backwards way to go in my opinion. And then you spend all day searching for no real answers. I'm sick of it!

In my case, after installing correct bluetooth driver from vendor, Share and Sync tabs are back.
My OS is Win10, so I installed Win10 version driver previously, but those tabs were missing.
Then I tried installing old Win8 version, they are back!
There is an old saying that goes, "new one is not always a good one."

Exact same situation in my case, except after the upgrade my laptop was using MS' own generic Bluetooth driver that lacks these tabs. Once I installed the proper BT chipset driver from the vendor's site (Broadcom) I no longer need to click on Receive a File each time.

A bit late into the mix here, but also having the same problem. I have manually click "Receive a file" before sending it via Bluetooth on Windows 10 boot drive (dual boot system. Win 7 and Win 10) Win 7 I can send files from phone by just selecting to do so, no having to engage with the PC at all.

And, even though my phone is properly paired, and says it's connected in Win 10, the phone says "Cannot Connect". BUT I can send or receive files if I use the bluetooth menu on the computer. This is really a$$backwards! I've tried installing newer drivers from the manufacturer.. no joy.

I am still having this exact same problem. I'm hoping that at some point someone will come up with a solution for this. Thanks for any word!

    fsquirt.exe
i am just guessing here, sorry, to be answering this without access to a win 10 pc
    type "Bluetooth File Transfer" in
    search programs and files
should show up there at the top
right click and create shortcut to taskbar
you can "send files" or "receive files" (note: plural)
don't use the "bluetooth devices" in the notification area

    Greetings All,

So I have a workaround. It'll cost $13 USD though IMO it's totally worth it.

This seems to be a common issue with Windows 10. Did Microsoft do it on purpose to force people to use their "Phone" modern Windows app? Hmm. Given the potential for mining massive amounts of personal information from mobile phones (plus Microsoft's past relationship with the NSA) it kinda makes you wonder. Worse, that app can't be removed after it's been installed, which isn't suspicious at all. I had to use a third party uninstaller just to get rid of it.

Anyways... I too wasn't seeing a "Share" tab when I clicked Bluetooth / "More Bluetooth options". Installing the latest Intel drivers for my motherboard did n-o-thing to help out my situation.

So here is what worked beautifully for me!

    1. Buy a "TechKey Bluetooth USB Dongle 4.0" on Amazon:

    2. Disable your PC's onboard bluetooth adapter. Search for "Device Manager" and click it, go to the Bluetooth section, then right-click the onboard bluetooth device (in my case, Intel Wireless Bluetooth) and select "Disable Device".

    3. Download and install the TechKey Bluetooth 4.0 Dongle drivers from the MyTechKey website. Although the dongle comes with a driver disc, the downloaded ZIP file contains the latest driver for Windows 10 (and sure, WinXP/Vista/7/8 as well).

    4. Plug the TechKey Bluetooth USB Dongle into your PC and let Windows 10 detect it.

    5. Turn on the Bluetooth for both your PC and mobile and then pair them together.

    6. Remember that missing Share tab? Click the Windows button and go to Settings, then choose "Bluetooth & other devices" and click "More Bluetooth options". NOW you get the Share tab, which allows remote devices to browse/send/receive pictures, music and other files. And here you can set which folder you want incoming files to be saved. (Notice also that there's another tab in there labeled "PIM Interface". This lets you configure which PC apps should handle business cards, calendar items, email messages, and notes when those are shared to/from your mobile phone. In my case that would be Microsoft Outlook).

    7. Last step... click the Windows button, select the folder labeled "Bluetooth", and click the shortcut corresponding to your mobile phone. This is where you configure other features that the TechKey bluetooth dongle provides.

With this dongle taking over the bluetooth functions of my PC, I can now send multiple files from my Samsung Galaxy phone and then go have a cup of tea. All my files are automatically transferred to my PC and saved to the folder of my choice. No fuss, no muss.

Other cool features: The dongle supports the A2DP protocol so I can hear my phone's digital music or call audio on my computer speakers! Also, there's a feature called "Remote Keyboard and Mouse" which, when enabled, lets you use your mouse and keyboard to control your android phone. (Note sure why anyone needs this but good to know this is available.)

After a few years of using this USB bluetooth dongle, I have to say it works brilliantly and is totally worth the $13 USD and time it took to set up.

    Warm Regards,
    WS

I have just solved the problem by trying an unorthodox method! I first tried the suggestions in this thread but the only result was that my phone could see both my PC and another phone but not pair with the PC or vice versa. (I used the Bluetooth troubleshooter with no effect.)

I left both on with the Bluetooth settings displayed on both. Then on the PC settings clicked on Add Bluetooth or other device. It searched and found the phone name. I clicked on Connect and it didn't.
Then I went to the phone that had a message that the PC was trying to pair - they didn't.
Then I went back to Settings>Connect and quickly clicked Pair on the phone. The second time of trying it did!

Now both show the corresponding devices on their lists!

It seems that you have to get the sequence just right and you need fast action to make it work! It even transferred a photo from the phone gallery and told me it had done it. (I haven't found it yet, but live in hope!)

Its takne me 2 days of trying but suddenly worked

PS Found the photo after lengthy search - in Dropbox/Camera Uploads! How it got there I don't know. Didn't even know that Dropbox had such a folder!

You are probably using an email account on your phone that corresponds and/or links to your computer enough to be considered legitimate and acceptable authentication. Just a guess... I know Google Family Link did something similar to me at one time.
