Using 'Net use' and DNS-323
I have a DLink DNS 323 used as a storage device for my W10 PC
Today I went to use it and the 2 mapped drives were missing.
Tried using D-Link 'Easy Search' utility, it finds the 323, along with IP data but when I click on a volume to Map, it fails with error "Failed to Map Drive"
Been advised this Utility no longer works under W10
Last time I had this issue I was given a solution to force mapping with: Net use Y: \\MachineName\ShareName
I tried today and get error 67
C:\>Net use Y:\\DLINK-EAB58D\Volume_1
System error 67 has occurred.
The network name cannot be found.
Am I just getting syntax wrong.
I can reach device from a browser, and access Admin interface so it is 'live'

Have you tried rebooting it, it may be having a senior moment.
-
Yep - been rebooted as has PC
I can browse to the IP address so it is on-line
Just can't get the drives mapped

Your command line has a little error in it.
Net use y: \\DLINK-EAB58D\Volume_1
There is a space required between y: and \\DLINK-EAB58D\Volume_1
-
OK .. Thanx for that ... I now get:
(c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\Rick>Net use y: \\DLINK-EAB58D\Volume_1
The command completed successfully.
But the mapped drive does not appear in 'My Computer' I mapped both volumes to letters Y and Z
-
Are you able to reach them in a cmd ?
y: <enter>
dir <enter>
-
Yes ... and list contents Ok. for both drives (Y and Z)
-
Even after refreshing... On my computer the drive appears instantly...
-
-
Nope .... nothing there.
Just usual drives
I'll reboot PC to see if that fixes anything .... but can't do that now as some work in progress

Rebooted PC ..... still the same no mapped drives showing

Do you need a username / password normally to access your NAS ?
You can try Net use y: \\DLINK-EAB58D\Volume_1 /persistent:yes (if you don't need any credentials)
or
Net use y: \\DLINK-EAB58D\Volume_1 /savecred (If you need to)
