    I hate to say this. But you have the world's knowledge quite literally at the tip of you fingers. So when there's something I don't know or fully understand I pull out a search engine and look it up and read about it.

    Now I'm not going to be one of "those people" and say "Google is your friend" because they aren't. Trust me on that one. But what I will say is this: If Leonardo Da Vinci had our technology mankind would be living about 80 light years from here by now...

    In synopsis. It just means you can connect a computer or device to one another without the aid of a needed crossover cable which is required for such a connection.

    NIC: Network Interface Controller. i.e Your network card.
