    Network my Canon Printer

Right now I have a Canon printer that is connected to Router A via WIFI

I have another desktop that is connected to Router B via WIFI

I have an issue whenever the Canon printer automatically change the IP address, I cannot print from my desktop.

Do you have any guidelines on how should I set the Canon IP address, so that I can print from my desktop. And not only that if i have a laptop connected to Router A, I can also use the Canon printer.

    Any tips? Thanks

Can you set a static IP address for the printer?
Is there any reason you are using two routers?
If the laptop is on Router A can it access shared files on the desktop which is on Router B?

The reason 2 wifi router is because my house is big
I would think so in terms of doing static IP on my canont printer

But in order to do so, does that mean Wifi Router B has to be connected to Wifi Router A and then i configure the static printer IP?

WIFI Router B (Different SSID) ---> Wifi Router A (Different SSID) <-- Static IP printer

Are both routers connected to the same modem somehow? If not then what is your setup?

I have used more than one router but they were connected to the same LAN. The 1st router was connected to the modem. The 2nd router had its routing function turned off and merely connected to the 1st router. In other words the 2nd router acted like an access point to the 1st router. That way all devices connected to the 2nd router got their local IP address from the 1st router. This way you could use DHCP and not have to worry about static IP addresses.

BTW, people that used to do this used 1 or more access point routers. Now people usually do this with a mesh network.

You do not need a second router, what you need is a mesh system to cover the whole house.

You may install advanced ip scanner and perform a scan.
If the scan shows your printer, it is on the same network and you have its ip number. Possibly you can make the ip assignment permanently in the router.
If the scan does not show your printer, it is not on the same network and you have to mdify your network setup.

Giving up the model of the printer is quite helpful. I have 2 HP printers attached to my Wireless Router via Ethernet cable [Ethernet port on the printers], any computer I use connected to the Network whether Wired or Wireless/Wi-Fi can use either after I install them.
