Printer Driver appearance blocked by Norton VPN

Windows 10, Norton 360 VPN, EPSON network printer/scanner

    1)
With Norton 360 VPN INactive (off), the EPSON printer driver shows in File Explorer \This_PC\Network_locations, see images.

Clicking the printer driver shows the printer's dashboard:
    http://192.168.1.101/PRESENTATION/HTML/TOP/INDEX.HTML

At other times (after reboot) there is sometimes an IPv6 link that pops up:
    http://[fe80::decd:2fff:fe4f:3e69]/P...TOP/INDEX.HTML

But all seems to work just fine without VPN.

    2)
With VPN active, and after restarting the computer, the printer driver in \Network_locations is gone.

However, printing and scanning still works.

The printer's memory SD card remains accessible in Windows, reading and writing to it works just fine.

Also the printer's dashboard works fine, directly via the IPv4 link though but not via the IPv6 link.
So it looks like the VPN doesn't pass IPv6 web links.

The router's dashboard also continues working and access to the router's USB drive and multi-media server works too.

With VPN active, all seems to be working, except that the printer driver does not appear under \Network_locations.

    3)
Noteworthy to mention, is that in the printer driver's properties pane (VPN INactive), the IP_address and the Device_Web_page sometimes show IPv4 addresses and at other times they show IPv6 addresses! What could be the reason for that? Is there any way to get a grip on what kind of IP address is used?
Not that it matters that much because my Win7 machine always shows, with VPN off, IPv4 addresses and the printer drivers disappears also when the VPN is turned on.

    4)
    Conclusion
Something in the Norton VPN (maybe Firewall) seems to prevent the printer drivers from appearing in FE \This_PC\Network_locations
Has anybody experienced similar issues? And found a solution for it?

    Thanks

It's a common problem with VPN as it masks the IP so it can't see it

Would it be possible to tell - somehow - the Norton VPN to make an exception for a particular local IP address? I got several *.exe files in the VPN Split Tunnel, *.exe files of EPSON apps for network scanning, and those apps work well after I've put them in the split tunnel. But in the split tunnel I cannot put IP addresses ...

I have a TP-Link router with a TP-Share media server in \Network locations (blue icon with white circle and triangle) and that works just fine behind the VPN. The properties pane is similar as with the printer but with IPv4 addresses. Strange that TP-Share works through the VPN but not the printer.

Sorry, the images shown in the first post are under Network (root pane, left side), not under File Explorer \This_PC\Network_locations. I confused the two network locations.
My TP-Share media server, on the other hand, does appear under File Explorer \This_PC\Network_locations.
