newbie: E5430 no wifi ...wifi card now not in device manager

Any help appreciated. My Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card has been dropping connections and I have been using 'network reset'. The connection was on again off again but now not working at all.
Also tried to download/update driver and the wireless card is no longer listed in the device manager. I have a dell latitude E5430. Running win10 pro.

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

Are you sure the card is not being seen in Device Manager? It may be listed as an 'unknown device' if it hasn't been correctly identified.

Assuming it really isn't in Device Manager, then it's more likely to be a hardware issue rather than a software one. The first thing I would try is to open up the laptop and try reseating the card. You'll find all the instruction you'll need in the Dell Latitude E5430 Owners Manual here:

Are you able to open the back cover, remove the wireless card, clean it and then reinstall?

Thanks Bree and Megahertz. The card is listed now in the device manager...if removing the card/cleaning is still indicated what should I do about the anti static warnings? I have no anti static tools.

Before you touch any wire, touch a metal like the chassis to make you and the computer the same potential. Do it again every time you move around.
