I tried that, but the installation app only creates an "Unknown Device" in Device Manager. Driver installation still fails. Thanks anyhow.
I did that too. Same result. This whole problem is directly related to the clean Win 10 install about two months ago. For some reason, the printer hasn't cooperated since. I really don't want to go through the agony of another clean install, but that may be my only choice at this point.
You might try a driver from the Canon website created for an older version of Windows.

Go to Canon Support for imageCLASS D530 | Canon U.S.A., Inc. , click on "Software and drivers", scroll down to the version box and select an older 64 bit version of Windows. The driver for Windows 8.1 seems to be the same as the one for Windows 10, so try something older than that.
