OneDrive Settings Win10 pane layout gone ?!

    Hi

After re-installing OneDrive the Settings pane seems to have the Window 7 layout (see picture).

Before that, the layout was the typical Win10 layout with the large blue-colored on/off buttons as is shown here:

So how can I get the Win10 OneDrive Settings pane layout back? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

The dialogue you're looking for (according to the article you cited) appears after you click Manage back up (Which should, grammatically, read Manage backup, of course, backup being the noun, to back up, the verb... So much for MS quality.)

(Note - I don't use Onedrive and uninstalled it long ago).

    Also see
Turn On or Off OneDrive PC Folder Backup Protection in Windows 10
    - where the screenshots show something quite different.

Yes there seems to be an inconsistency between what one sees in the video and the screenshots.

The video shows indeed the Win10 settings pane popping up after pushing Settings gear icon, then Settings. So there is no Win7 pane layout. But the screenshots do show Win7 pane layout. Sloppy is that.

In my case after pushing Settings gear icon, then Settings, the Win7 pane pops up, contrary to what the video shows. So inconsistent.

    - - - Updated - - -

Just to demonstrate how inconsistent this really is, I added two screenshots.

    In the first screenshot:
--By right clicking the blue cloud icon in the notification area, the Win10 left pane pops up with the gear icon (right in screenshot).
--Pushing the second gear icon brings up the Win7 pane with its six taps ([Back up] tap front) in the case the user is linked to the account (left in screenshot).

    In the second screenshot:
--Clicking the [Manage back up] button in the Win7 pane brings up the Win10 pane [Manage folder back up].

So there is constant flipping from Win10 to Win7 pane layout back and forth. How inconsistent.

Note that with the Win10 pane [Manage folder back up] there are NO checkboxes visible. For novices this can be very confusing. Only if one hovers by coincidence over the pane the buttons and checkboxes become visible.

Well.... I suppose you could consider that an option... depending on which presentation you prefer...

Probably the "Windows Back up" App in Windows 10 which seems to be integrated in to Windows 11 settings.

I use OneDrive for manual uploads and downloads only.

Never seen those dialogue boxes on Windows 10 or 11. Think they must be from old OneDrive Apps which have been withdrawn.

Windows 10 has the "Windows Back up App", not in Windows 11 as functionality is integrated in the Settings there.

OneDrive appears as a Browser App, from the Browser or the Microsoft OneDrive link in All programs.
Either way brings you to a Browser App. If you have MS Office 365 installed that is integrated.

I do not want Syncing, that is turned off, however all my Folders and Files files appear in that Browser App.

OneDrive - Win10 pane layout came back by itself

    Hi,
The problem got solved by itself. Today (16 Sept), a day later, the Win7 pane does not show anymore and I got the Win10 pane layout back. Looks like the stuff took care of it by itself. I wish all Windows and Microsoft problems would solve itself just like that ... by itself.
Clicking the cogwheel, and again the cogwheel gives me what I wanted to see in the picture below.
    So problem solved for me.
Thanks to all for feedback and suggestions.
