One simple way would be use onedrive on both and it would sync for you or Google drive. You need to setup a share ensure network is set to private then connect to the share which should show up

My list includes checking that the computers can see each other irrespective of whether or not File explorer's chronically unreliable Network section displays them.

    Best of luck,

Networking (including via Wifi) is faster than Bluetooth- if you can manage to set it up as per Try3's post.

It took me twice round the first time- be prepared to be patient and methodical.

However, if you need something that's easier but slower, and you need it urgently, then you might consider Nearby Sharing if your PCs have Bluetooth (built in or an inexpensive dongle).

Turn On or Off Nearby Sharing in Windows 10

Note: if you have both enabled, this is claimed:
Your computer automatically picks the fastest way to share your file or webpage, either over Bluetooth or Wifi.

I've just added a Windows 10 computer to my network, following your steps I'm able to see my computer through File Explorer (\\JimsOffice) but cannot see the new computer from JimsOffice (\\Backups4us). Do you think the problem is on my computer or on Backups4us? I can see both the other computers on my network through File Explorer.

Correction: I can see them but can only access one of them. In map network drive I can see all the drives but Backups4us.

You need to work through the procedure on each computer.
I can't tell from your post if you have done that.

There was a typo on one of admin accounts I set up, now works as advertised.

Kinda spoke too soon. \\JimsOffice and \\Backups4us, see each other and can map drive to each other. My wife's computer can see both from File Explorer but can't see either from Map Network Drive - Browse. She has a drive mapped to JimsOffice that works. I changed her workgroup to the new one and added the same local admin username to her users.

Can actually map a drive letter using the\\Backups4us but find it peculiar that Browse can't find either computer.

Do \\JimsOffice and \\Backups4u AND \\WifesComputer all work in File explorer?
If so then any problem in browsing during mapping a network drive must be a Windows issue rather than a network issue. I know that does not help directly but hopefully will guide where you look / test.
Does SFC have anything to say?
    SFC-DISM - TenForumsTutorials
Use Option 3 including, if there are irreparable errors, going online to run the DISM command explained at the end of Option 3.

    Best of luck,

All three work in file explorer.
SFC found and repaired some errors.
    Still can't map drive letters.
Mapped drive letter U: using \\backup4us but file history could not find it.

DISM, did you mean Option 2, #3? Ran it and got a Healthy

    - - - Updated - - -

30 minutes later, tried File history again and it found the drive letter U:, so all is well for now.

    I'm glad it's working now.
I don't know why you mention File history but then I've never used that.
    Perhaps SFC fixed the problem.
    The tutorial is
    SFC - TenForumsTutorials
I had saved it in my notes with the name SFC-DISM - TenForumsTutorials just to remind me to mention the Dism command in the notes at the end of Option 3 and then I forgot to change the name back to just SFC in my post.

    All the best,
