    Ftp error 12031

Programs such as Super Antispyware and Belarc Advisor normally open then look for updates. Not anymore though. Instead I get "Unable to check for new updates". Same deal when I try to register a new program. Antivirus is totally off. My laptop on the same network doesn't have this problem. No other problems.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. Not even sure where to find this kind of log.

    Thanks

Not clear about ftp or internet problem your asking about The FTP Error 12031 indicates the failure of obtaining files from the FTP server. Also, the error 12031 indicates that the connection to the server is reset or not working properly and it is caused by the poor internet connection.

    Open a cmd prompt type
    ipconfig /all
    tracert 194.119.131.66
    tracert adobe.com

Check your firewall and see if port 21 is being blocked. Generally, that's the FTP port.

Lots of ports are listening or established above 500 using Netstat -aon. Port 4 is the only low port listening. Using Port Checker online, the 20 or so I tried are blocked. Brand new router in DHCP and Kaspersky disabled.

Online TCP Port Scan tried 1,000 ports & said all were closed.

Here's an NMAP Scanner saying 'filtered'.Ftp error 12031-q1.jpg
