5ghz wifi Won't Stay Connected

Hello, all!
So, I have a Nuc10i7FNH that's connected to my router via wifi. My internet speeds are pretty good at around 300mbps. When I connect my PC to my router using 5Ghz, it won't stay connected. It will disconnect every few minutes or so and then I'll have to reconnect. It will keep doing this through about 6 or 8 repetitions, and then it will stay connected for good. It will stay connected for days. However, the next time the PC is restarted, it starts doing it all over again.
My router is a Netgear Nighthawk AX2400. It does not have adjustable output power.

Some quick notes:
Every time I reconnect, I have to re-enter my wifi password.
If I disconnect manually, I never have to enter a password when reconnecting.
I've uninstalled the generic Windows network driver and installed the Intel driver but nothing changed.
This never happens on 2.4Ghz wifi.

I have to reboot my TP-Link DECO WiFi about once a week to keep a 5g connection on my desktop. Have you tried turning it off and on again?

As what was mentioned already, 5GHz is very limited in range and walls and what have you can greatly affect the signal. If his is the case, then consider adding a good reputable Wi-Fi repeater somewhere between the router/modem (your source of Wi-Fi) and where you use the laptop or whatever.

You shouldn't have to do this. Get yourself a high quality Asus router and perhaps flash it with the third-party firmware Asus Merlin...

5g is faster than 2g but very limited range which I suspect is the problem you also need to check whasations are on the same 5g channel and may be close interfering with the signal on MS store there are a few free wifi test tool which will tel you about stations signal strenght etc

Without exaggerating, my router is 10 feet from my PC. The only thing between them is a ceiling with no concrete.
When it is connected to 5g and stays connected to 5g I get full bars of Wi-Fi signal. The connection is strong and the speeds are fast, it just won’t stay connected. Again, once Ive reconnect several times it will finally stay connected, and after that, it’s bullet proof until I restart the PC. I’ve checked traffic on both 2.4 an 5 and I’ve chosen channels carefully.
I don’t recall making any changes since this started happening.

Read this. I use channel 40 because of it.


Depending on where you live in Florida, it could be the reason.

During normal operations, if the router detect a radar is using the particular channel which is currently router using, then it may communicated to connected Wi-Fi clients to stop the transmission and change to another available channel together. This behavior will cause connected Wi-Fi clients to be disconnected from the network for a period of time before re-connecting to a different channel

If user need to avoid such disconnections caused by DFS function during normal operation, follow the steps to disable auto DFS channel selection.

Unfortunately, my router doesn't support DFS.

Do two things:

1) Go into the router and chose one of the following 5GHz channels: 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161, and 165. I'd pick 36 through 48 myself.

2) In the router, make sure it has the latest firmware update.
