Network reset required frequently for computer to be seen on network

    Windows Version 22H2

Every few days or so I have to do a Network Reset for my computers to see each other on my network. Is there a setting I can change to keep them visible. The Advanced settings in the Network and Sharing Center are not the problem. I am using wired connection to my router.

    Welcome to tenforums.

Are all devices PCs? Are all running Win 10? Do you have SMB1 (client, server) enabled? (Should be disabled unless actually needed).

Please describe your network- how many devices- what are they?
    Do you mean...
    - your network is functioning, but suddenly 1 or more devices is lost from it without any change being made?
    or
    - you turn on a PC and it's not seen on the network?
    or
    - something else?

    Thanks.

Daily turn on 2 or sometimes 3 PC laptops all running Windows10 and using wired connections to Ethernet Private Network. They all connect to the network, printer and internet normally except sometimes they can't see each other. Usually after I do a Network Reset they can see each other for 2 to 4 days.

    Thank you for your reply.

    SMB1 as asked?

they can see each other for 2 to 4 days
Do you mean all are on all this time (not in sleep or hibernate) and then suddenly 1 is not available?

They never go to sleep or hibernate. Each is turned off every evening and then started up the following morning. The change from being visible on the network to not visible occurs when the PC's are turned on in the morning. They do not drop off the network during the daytime when they are on.

If you have SMB1 enabled as I mentioned above (not recommended) it can take over 20 mins for a PC new to the network to become visible. Question remains.

Sorry, was not familiar with SMB1 so ignored it. Now checked and SMB1 File Sharing Support is not enabled.

There was a point at which some people ran a script after logon to reset the network adapter.

See this thread for example- (both Wi-fi and ethernet mentioned):
    Resetting Network Adapter

Feel free to look for other examples.

Thanks for your efforts. I'll review that and possibly look for others.

Windows doesnt look for pcs it asks the master browser for pc names if you turn off pcs then the master browser can take 20 mins to find new pcs it was written for work were pcs are on all the time. You can access pcs via ip in the mean time ie \\192.168.2.*\sharename.

this often wakes things up run it on all pcs NetBScanner - NetBIOS scanner
    Note which is master browser
