Cfosspeed does it really work or is it a scam?

What is your opinion about cFosSpeed? Is it functional or dispensable in windows?

All it does is prioritize "urgent" traffic.
Your internet connection speed won't change at all.

thanks for your reply, but is urgent traffic the application that demands the most internet band?

Some 10 years ago (on Windows 8/8.1) I started using NetLimiter on my LAN to limit the bandwidth of local traffic for specific processes across multiple computers. When copying files between my computers over my LAN at the maximum speed that my LAN was capable to sustain, some HTTP downloads would fail (with no option to resume on some servers), peers in µTorrent would drop me by the bunch, playback of shared FLAC files in foobar2000 would get interrupted, TeamViewer and Input Director would turn into a giant lag fest. So, NetLimiter was actually pretty nice to have back then. But I never really gave cFosSpeed a shot, and especially nowadays AFAIK just about any decent router should be already enough to suit all your traffic shaping needs.

10 years ago you went through a turmoil. These internet optimizers promise to speed up the connection, but this is just false advertising, as the only way to increase the speed of the connection is to pay extra for it.

My cable modem is hooked up to my LAN. If I copy files between different Windows computers over the LAN by using Windows File and Printer Sharing (shared folders), I have to use some form of traffic shaping to limit the LAN bandwidth that gets consumed by the copying of the files or else my internet speed and the LAN bandwidth of programs that also need some portion of my LAN bandwidth to function all drop to zero bandwidth. NetLimiter gives the benefit of letting you, in a centralized way, monitor and take control over each individual process across multiple different Windows computers in a LAN so, put simply, NetLimiter does to your network bandwidth consumption what Process Lasso does to your CPU consumption. I.e., it lets you monitor/limit those specific processes that would otherwise dominate your whole LAN when you don't want that.

From what I know about NetLimiter, it is a bandwidth controller, not an internet optimizer, and your explanations are spot on sir
