wifi speed is 5x faster on linux than win10 using same hardware
Just signed up for t-mobile 5g at home which comes with a Sagemcom Fast 5688W gateway and was pleasantly surprised to get 500mbps download speeds with a wifi-connected iphone 2020 SE. Figured I would get the same d/l speed on my main win10 computer which has a tp-link AXE5400 PCIe wifi card, but am finding it only gets 100mbps d/l. Works fine, just slower d/l speed, would like to figure out why. Firewall and AV were disabled btw. Winver is 22H2 (OS Build 19045.2913)
Next step was to boot that main computer to linux from a usb drive. From the linux desktop it got 500mbps download speed (using fast.com). So same hardware but different OS, 5x the speed.
Next I used Intel Device Assistant which updated the wifi driver but did not change the speed, still 100mbps down. Troubleshot for an hour and cannot figure it out, but one piece of data that may be important is the network troubleshooter comes up with errors. I'll attach those images below plus the "detailed information" from the troubleshooter in a txt file linked below. It references a "wireless connectivity information event" for more info but I am not sure where to find that, did not see it in event viewer. Thanks a lot for any advice! !
