Whoops... I see *one* problem already, with the proxy solutions... I don't have a wifi connection on my desktop machine... I'll have to install a wifi adapter. Fortunately, the motherboard has an m.2 wifi connection, so that should serve well...

then it should be quite easy.
pfSense is quite fast learning curve on as it is GUI based after the installation process.. and you have a lot of documentation on install and setup on the start page of the documentation pfSense Documentation | pfSense Documentation
You just have to manually reconfigure the other devices to use your VM-gateway instead of the router DHCP gateway. 192.168.0.1 or what you have.

Whoops... I was confused, I haven't used any of these programs for *years* !!
It is VirtualBox that I want to use, to create the virtual machine... *not* TeamViewer...
heh... I just installed TV, first time in many years... then was trying to find the "install OS from .iso" option... which isn't there!!
nevermind...

okay and i have never used TeamViewer, so i didn't react to it.. But now when you mention it.. Isn't that remote management and meeting program??
I think i have seen people in here talking about running VM's in win ten. Hyper-V or something.. so perhaps its built in to win10 so you don't need virtualbox
Perhaps some other one can pitch in on that one.... I use Qemu in linux for VM's, so i am of no help in windows

YouTube won't take much bandwidth you can run that non stop same with gaming etc these area both use very little bandwidth like you'd be surprised very negligible i think live steams have slightly higher impact but overall its nothing for the two former unless you have a big family like 10 kids or something,
i agree with bro and that it would most likely be the cameras at the top of the list in your case, either that or you do a lot of downloading.
If you read that link it says "turns on 50 times a day" in its highest metric on the table. That is just a generalization that pertains to that user but could be much different in your context the whole data on that page is in fact, if you live on a major thoroughfare then it could be considerable more substantial and on constantly without much downtime.

games are big margin now the actual downloads i mean its not uncommon to see them over 50gb or even 100gb you only need to do that 10 to 20 times and there is your cap alone. Just a broad assumption whether you game or not because gaming is popular and with that it brings these sorts of overhead.
