    Which password?


    I have a PC running Ubuntu that is sharing a folder on my local network. When I try to open that folder in Windows 10, I am asked for the network password:

    Which password?-windowssecurity.jpg

    My question is which password?
    I have tried my smbpasswd on the Ubuntu computer, I have tried my Ubuntu login credentials and I have tried my Windows password. None work. So, which password is Windows looking for?

    The problem is by default windows passes the username your logged in with but linux doesnt know that name try using cmline to map a drive passing linux username and password How to Map Network Drives From the Command Prompt in Windows

    It would be the password and username that you have setup on the Linux Samba server not Windows.
