    Wi-fi driver corrupt

I am running Windows 10 version 22H2 build 19045.2846. I have an acer nitro 5 laptop. Yesterday I received Intel wireless drivers update. I did it.

Since today, I am unable to access wifi on my laptop. It simply doesn't detect wifi connections.

Here is all what I have tried.

    1. I uninstalled my wifi driver in device manager. Restarted my laptop. No success. This is how my device manager looks after I restart my laptop.

    2. Ran network troubleshooter specifically for wi-fi, no success. Sharing screenshots below.

    3. Re-installing wireless drivers through intel driver assistant. It says that the latest ones are already installed.

I cannot find intel wifi adapter/driver list in my add remove program list otherwise I would have uninstalled it and done a clean installation from Intel Driver Assistant.

I am currently accessing internet on my laptop by using wifi on my android phone and enabling USB tethering. My phone is connected to my laptop at this very moment.

Download and install the Wireless driver from Acer support as that will be adapted to suit the particular Acer Laptop hardware.
Probably the Airplane Mode driver as well, as that is concerned with the Wireless Card.

It is more likely to work properly and Windows updates will do a better job.

Fortunately everything got resolved after I restarted my laptop again.

I did a manual update of drivers through device manager through following steps.

    Thanks for replying!

Alright. This issue has crept again. I installed wifi drivers and airplane drivers from here and I'm unable to solve the problem.

    Support | Acer India

Multiple restarts done. Uninstalling of wifi driver, clean installation through the acer website one also tried, but still stuck with no success.

I assume the India website is appropriate to your geo location ?

Does the Device Manager now indicate any "fault"/error symbol beside the component (i.e. a yellow triangle with exclamation mark) ?

How old is the device? It could be (albeit remotely) that the update is co-incidental with an intermittent failing hardware ... it works, it doen't work, it works, it stops ... (i.e. it's not the driver). Try an external USB wifi dongle/adapter (won't resolve your problem but at least will give you wifi access)

Yes. I'm located in India, so the website is appropriate.

I'm getting this exclamation mark sign in the device manager since this problem started.

My laptop is four years old. I bought it in March 2019. I'm using USB tethering via my android phone like I mentioned in the original post.

Sorry, missed that in your original.

My only thought left is that it is the intermittently failing hardware option.

What other information is shown in the Properties dialog when you double-click on the Device manager entry that has the yellow warning triangle?
    - It might turn out to be not at all useful but you don't mention anything about checking it.
    - The yellow warning triangle merely means there's a problem but the details might show what that problem is.

Just as an example of what might be shown in a Properties dialog for a faulty device,
