    Xfinity modem and windows 10

Yesterday I installed a new Xfinity modem. Right after this, both of my computers with windows 10 changed the screensaver image, and did not recognize my windows password. After a few tries to restore the password the windows stopped booting and I cannot do troubleshooting because it says I am not login as admin.
So I wonder if this Xfinity modem could have had something to do with this? After all it happened at two computers.
    Thanks!

I cannot do anything, the windows are gone. I even cannot reset the computer to the factory settings.
Maybe it has nothing to do with the modem, but the same problem occurred at the same time at two different computers.

As a first step, I would boot the computer(s) from the standard Windows 10 installation USB flash drive. At the first install screen where it asks for language and keyboard, press Shift+F10 to open a command prompt window. Run:
    Code:
    diskpart
    list volume
See what shows up. Like this:
    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22621.1555]
    (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\System32>diskpart

    Microsoft DiskPart version 10.0.22621.1

    Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation.
    On computer: RAIDER

    DISKPART> list volume

Volume ### Ltr Label Fs Type Size Status Info
      ---------- --- ----------- ----- ---------- ------- --------- --------
Volume 0 D Data NTFS Partition 945 GB Healthy
      Volume 1 R RECOVERY FAT32 Partition 8191 MB Healthy
Volume 2 C Windows 11 NTFS Partition 401 GB Healthy Boot
Volume 3 E NTFS Partition 64 GB Healthy
Volume 4 FAT32 Partition 100 MB Healthy System
