When cable net turns off it freezes the system

System Version 21H2 (compilation of the system: 19044.2486).

Hi. I have a strange problem with my win 10. When I turn off the cable of the internet then computer freezes.
Something happened to the mains and there was no power for a while, but the UPS kept the computer running. However, the internet went down and the computer crashed. So UPS doesn't save me, whatever I would do, if I don't save my work, it's all deleted anyway, because when it freezes, you have to restart. What can cause the operating system to hang, which should not react even in 1% to the lack of the Internet?

Hi, it's not entirely clear what's happened to your PC. During the power outage, was there any point at which your PC suddenly lost power, or perhaps then or subsequequently has been forcibly shut down whilst processing something?

Your specs don't show what disks are in the PC.

Do you use 3rd party disk imaging as is endlessly recommended here, saving image files on external storage?
Most people who don't don't even bother to answer that question, sadly.

Given your symptoms, let's start with basics.
    a. Check your physical disks - e.g. with Hard disk Sentinel (excellent, full fuctional trial, often given away, portable version available) You can do a basic SMART check with Crystal Diskinfo (free).

    b. If ok, then from an admin command prompt run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    - result on GUI.

    c. If ok, likewise run
    SFC /SCANNOW
    and advise if that passes.

Let's start there- those steps in that order and see what we have. Thanks.

I can disconnect the internet cable from the PC at this point and it will instantly freeze the PC, even if it's not doing anything at the moment.

I have 3 discs.: 2 SSD (the system is on one of them) and 1 HDD (only datas).
    SFC scan is ok.

No, I am not using any external discs, clouds etc. Only Adobe Creative Cloud is running because of the Photoshop.

I am sending you results of scans with Crystal Diskinfo and from cmd scan.

Yes I know.. what I commented on was the HISTORY of the device. In particular, whether it had suddenly lost power at some point during this.

Also please confirm the ethernet cable problem started AFTER the power issue.

You seem to have used Crystal Diskmark (performance) rather than Diskinfo (SMART check).

The result is right on its GUI. Check the result for ALL disks.

    Hi @dalchina
Just a thought or more of a question as you know win10 hundred times better then me.
How does windows10+11 act, if you only have a microsoft account login on the computer and you pull the network cable when you using the computer?

I've never seen a negative impact myself.

Which is it? Freeze or crash?

You have not reported your SFC results.

    All the best,

No, I notice this issue since couple of years.

CrystalDiskInfo can't find a disc... How to run it?

The result is right on its GUI. Check the result for ALL disks.
I am sending scans from all discs with description from Crystal Diskmark.

    How do you run it?

    Very easily.
Here's a portable version. Double click the exe file.
CrystalDiskInfo Portable (disk health monitoring) | PortableApps.com

If it can't find a disk... you may have a problem.

Try Hard Disk Sentinel. Full functional trial, portable version, valid for SSDs too: - second one:
    Download Hard Disk Sentinel

Post a screenshot (not a text report) like one of these:
When cable net turns off it freezes the system-1.jpg

Generally people find this easy to do.
