Not connecting to correct network via ethernet

I'm having a networking problem with this laptop. My main router (router1) is in the lounge. I have a second router (router2) in the bedroom connected to router1 via ethernet cable. I have two laptops in the bedroom, both connected to router2 via ethernet cables. Network info for both laptops used to say connected to router2 but something has happened and now my Acer Aspire A515-45 says I'm connected to router1. I've tried restarting both routers and the laptop, and using the ethernet cable from the other laptop, but it still says connected to router1. Can anyone give me any idea about what might be causing this and how to solve it?

It's all the same LAN. Nothing to be concerned about.

Unless you have physically set up two different LAN's using each "Router" as a LAN, you should only have one physical LAN and the second "router" as you call it should not even be there unless you want to use Wifi from it as a Access Point with zero routing features. Really need more insight as to what you are actually trying to achieve on your network with these two devices.

No, I haven't set up two different LANs. Yes, the second router is being used as an access point with no routing. Both routers have different names so we know which one our devices are connected to.

The two routers are at either end of the house. It's a really old house, we don't have a very strong signal and it's virtually non-existent trying to connect wirelessly from one end of the house to router at the other end of the house. Most of the devices (TVs and laptops) connected to the second router are connected via ethernet cables so we didn't have to run multiple cables under the house. And our smaller devices (mobile phones) can connect wirelessy to either router and swap between them depending on how close we are to either one.

A previous comment has been made that, being the same LAN, the fact that my laptop network info now displays the name for the other router is nothing to worry about. So, if that's the case, I'm happy with that. I was just curious to know why the name change would have happened.

Sometimes it depends upon the order that everything was connected and/or restarted and can be quite random.

Thanks again. I didn't know that and since I don't actually check very often, it may well have happened before and I just haven't noticed.
