Do not know my network credentails

After the recent update to Windows 10 Pro (version 21H2), I can no longer connect to my iMac using a workgroup. The work workgroup names have not changed and using Map Network Drive, the Mac and directory are found. However, I'm asked for a password for the network credentials for the IP of the Mac (192.168.1.6) - something I have never had to do.

I tried my log on password for the Mac, for my Windows computer - even my Microsoft password - none work.

What do I need to do as the Admin for both computers?

    Many thanks for any suggestions.

Your Mac credentials are saved in MacOS Keychain not on Windows. Now if it is for a Work login, the question arises if your work uses a Domain.

Yes, I am the administrator for the Mac and am logged on. Also, I can connect to the Windows computer from the Mac.

I try the password for the Mac and that is not accepted. Very confusing since I have never had this problem until the last Windows update.

    Problem solved!

I clicked on More choices and used my full name rather than Todd and used my regular log on. Damn! So simple but it eluded me.

    Hopefully this may help others.

I disconnected both of the attached directories, and did a reconnect. However, Windows remembered my log on for the Mac computer and did not take me to the Credentials page where the link was present - even tried attaching a directory I had not done previously and again, was not asked to verify my Credentials. However, my initial posting shows the "More choices" and it shows the incorrect name, "Todd". "More choices" gave me a chance to change that to Todd Cary, the correct name for the Mac ("Todd" is what is used on the Windows computer). Hopefully this helps.

'More choices' gives you options to use other credentials, rtcary would have clicked on 'Use a different account'.

If rtcary ever wants to make Windows forget the credentials and put you back to square one, then use Credential Manager to remove your remembered credential.
