Mac connected to WorkGroup; what should File Explore show i.e. Network

After performing all of the steps so the Desktop Windows computer can communicate with a Mac, File Explorer (Network) did not show anything. However when I used the Mac's IP, I was able to connect to directories and and to an external drive. I have attached a screen image of what is shown by File Explorer.

Probably I am miss some basic principle of WorkGroups and connected computers since I am expecting to see the name of the Mac under Networks.

    What am I missing?

    Todd,

You cannot rely on the File explorer, Network section even if all your network computers are Windows ones.

I suggest that you make shortcuts to the shared folder on your Mac using the IP address.

Your diagram shows your email addresses. They can apparently be trawled from diagrams so you might want to edit your post & delete it / redact bits of it.

For others, here's a cleaned up version of Todd's since-deleted diagram.
Substitute this cleaned up version if you wish.
