    Lost Connection to Printer

I would like some help troubleshooting the connection to my printer. It was working fine and suddenly stopped.

It's an Epson NX515 printer wired to the router. Although it's an older printer, it worked fine until this connection issue popped up. The PC is Win10 Education version 22H2, wired to the router. From the PC, I can successfully ping the printer's IP address. I tried disabling the PC's firewall to no avail. I uninstalled the printer software and tried to reinstall it. It hangs at the screen where it tries to detect the network printer to establish connectivity. I rebooted the PC. I also rebooted the printer, modem, and router. For some reason, the PC won't find the printer anymore.

Like I said, it was working fine until recently. Does anyone have suggestions on what I could try to establish connectivity?

Does it have any alternative connection methods so you can test the heart of the printer itself. If it works when connected some other way you will have narrowed down the range of possible problem causes.

    Best of luck,

Minutes ago, I successfully connected another Win10 laptop to said printer. So I don't believe the printer is the problem. How could I pinpoint where the problem is at?

Well, that result implies that the problem is with whatever was not involved in the successful test.
    The connection?
    The cable?
    The unsuccessful computer?

You might also see if there is an Epson user forum where you could search for / ask about other user experiences.

    Best of luck,

My gut tells me it is a problem on the machine in question. Said machine accesses the internet just fine. I can remote desktop connect from other machines to the machine in question. So it has successful connectivity to the LAN and WAN.

Is there a way to tell which firewall port(s) the machine may be trying to communicate to the printer?

Never mind folks! I found the issue! I retraced my steps over the last week for modifications I've made to the machine's software. I recently installed Oracle VirtualBox. It activated a virtual ethernet connection in the network sharing center. Somehow traffic was getting messed up and/or redirected through that connection. As soon as I disabled the virtual connection, the machine was able to find the printer.
