    WiFi problems on my laptop

I have this Toshiba Satellite Pro C870 laptop which is serving me well. Two years ago I upped the ram to 8-gigs, and installed a Samsung 1-terabyte ssd drive. So it doesn't lack speed.

The problem is that I had the internet on Lan connection for about a year. Now that I tried to run it on WiFi, it does not see the WiFi offered by my Shaw Gateway box. Back a year ago Windows 10 pro would use the WiFi for internet access.

The WiFi does work when I dual-boot into PCLinuxOS-kde, it sees the WiFi right-a-way. Some update in the past year has maybe borked the WiFi options I'm thinking.

    Does someone have a solution..?

Your laptop seems to be from around 2012, so all credit to you on environmental grounds.

However, that does mean you are NOT guaranteed to find that everything works and continues to work with Win 10. When they don't, you can't blame MS, and you need to take responsibility for fixing it.

Check your Network Adapter/Wireless driver history in Device Manager. Do you have an option to roll back a driver?
Whilst there, check there are no yellow triangles.

Consider using the manufacturer's driver if still available.

    Try the relevant troubleshooter:

Does it see ANY networks e.g. your neighbours'?

Check Airplane/Flight mode is correctly set.

WiFi problems on my laptop [SOLVED]

Thanks for the heads up on changing the Mode from 802.11g/n/ax. I went into device manager and saw only 802.11n. So the Box had the 802.11g/n/ax activated, which I changed to 802.11g/n.

Just for a bonus, I added the MAC address of the laptop into the router/modem box. Checked on Save Settings. Clicked on the network icon in the system tray and my Shaw wireless connection is there..

    Thanks!
