Wifi (logging/browsing) suddenly not working, Spybot did this?

Maybe it's not Spybot fault but guessing it is. So:
While on Wifi, suddenly logging in (like Steam, OneDrive...) isn't working. Some websites are not working, though others work fine. After I plug in and use USB tethering instead of WiFi, I get the logins and web works fine. As soon as I jump back onto WiFi Steam Friends list (for example) goes gray and stays that way even if I wait.

Today I installed Spybot Search and destroy, did a scan and immunized what it wanted. I found a way to undo immunization but that didn't fix the login problem even after reboot. So now I want to get rid of it ALL. I'm hesitant to just simply uninstall it in fear it leaves some protocols in place, leaving the problem as well in that scenario.

Is it Spybot that is messing with me? If so, how do I walk back what's been done?

I tried to figure out if this is connection related post, or AV related post or what but since I couldn't - it's in general, hope it' not a problem.

    Thanks for the tips.

When you had the logging going on, which app was making the logs? Event Viewer?

    If so, check out:

Spybot has been surpassed by other apps like ADWCleaner and Malwarebytes and it not very effective any longer.
If you can connect with Tethering from your phone then it is not a Windows issue, but one with your WiFi Router.
Unplug your Router, wait a few seconds then plug it back in. While waiting for the routers lights to all come up, restart the computer. Try connecting again and see how it goes.
Do a Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test if you are getting slower D/L Speed then the advertised speed you are paying for, you should talk to your ISP. Also, test with an Ethernet cable.

    Try this instead:

    1) Disconnect Wi-fi
    2) Disable
    3) Delete
    4) Reinstall

Not sure what any of this means but seems that the last word is had by Spybot.
This is launching Steam from otherwise idle machine.

I went to Spybot since I seem to recall it had a wayyy deeper Windows Startup option menu, showing more items then TaskManager. Didn't find it, I guess it's not there anymore.

Can't Delete, it's grayed out every which way I try it.

You have to disconnect from Wi-Fi first.

I apologize, you're right. Does the same thing here. Lemme find how to delete it...

(I remember when this OS used to be more consistent...)
Make sure you Uninstall the correct one (most likely has the word "wireless" in there somewhere in the name):Wifi (logging/browsing) suddenly not working, Spybot did this?-image.png

So now it works normally. I don't *think* I did anything but tinker with the phase 1&2 while trying to find a way to delete it (phase3). I do not know how, but if I had to guess that tinkering, (disabling, enabling - Wifi on, Wifi off) undid something on that particular connection.

So you're saying everything is now working perfectly the way it did before the Spybot deal?

I'll be sure to try this if problem reappears, but right now it's working so I guess someone in this forum had an extra pair of chicken bones to shaman it together, or something :)

Thanks for the help, I'll mark this solved soon unless someone want's to shoe in an explanation before that.

It works as before, as intended, had a reboot and still works. Again, not sure how "I fixed it" but it might be disabling/enabling and all that what unjammed something.

    Yay! =)

I'm glad it all worked out fine.

NOW, let's go a little more advanced real quick. It is completely OPTIONAL:
Do you want to analyze this and see if it really IS Spybot that did this / Do you like Spybot and want to use it again?
Assuming you want to use Spybot again, obviously you don't want this issue to occur again.
    1) So, you already Restarted the computer from clean slate.
    2) If you have System Restore enabled, please make a Restore point.

    3) Run Spybot exactly the way you did. Does the internet screw up afterwards?
    4) If not, Restart teh computer, and try the internet. If the internet is working perfectly, then... Spybot seems okay.
BUT if the internet screws up the same way, then boom! It's Spybot.
    5) You can try the very simple Enable/Disable deal, and HOPEFULLY the internet works perfectly.
    6) If not, then refer to the picture with the Computer Management / Device Manager picture above to Uninstall, then unplug WiFi USB, Replug back in, Windows should auto install it.
    7) Does the internet work the same way? (I am assuming it definitely should work perfectly by now)...
... BUT WORST CASE SCENARIO 8) Restore your computer to that saved Restore Point from earlier.

ALL OF THAT is completely OPTIONAL. But this optional process can help you confirm if it's still safe to use Spybot.

It's up to you my friend. Good luck in any choice you choose. =)
