    Hi

at some stage after I was able to connect I found the Medion Drivers support site,
they bascically said I needed to connect to Windows Update to download the drivers.

At that point I was using my phone as a Hotspot.

I went to winows update and "Checked for Updates".

I got an error message that Windows Update failed.

At that point I was called away and just left the PC where it was, trying
    to run Updates.

When I got back, a few hours later I got the message that my PC was up to date.

This morning I turned my PC on and it had connected to the Network and running fairly well,

An Internet speed test showed around 10 MBPS download and slightly faster upload.

I have just done another test and it is down to 5 Download and around 1 upload., I guess as Australia
wakes up and connects there is less to go around. But this is useless.
    ===============================================================================

I cannot find a Medion site that has a driver of any kind for the Motherboard.

I guess the ongoing question is "what happened to the Ethernet entry in Device Manager??

I am begining to think that this has more to do with my provider than anything else.

I will try to go through your posts and see what I still need to do.

    Regards

    Daniel

You mean sthg like this is missing in your Dev Man?
    Cannot connect to the Internet-1.jpg

If still missing drivers, try scanning with Snappy Driver Installer.

If it finds one for that, try that and only that- ignore any others.

    Hi

I think I need your level of knowledge to use that program, my Grandson would probably
understand the questions but I don't.

I have no idea where to go with that program.

Well, here's a simpler one for you... but SDI tends to be better..

    Drivermax
    DriverMax

    - there's a video to watch on that page.

    Please complete
Boot and log on as normal. About 3 minutes after logging on and without launching more programs, capture a screenshot of your task manager, organising columns high to low as appropriate. You're looking for minimal resource usage.

Similarly, capture such a screenshot when a program is launching and running slowly.

Presumably your O/S is on your SSD. How long does a cold boot to lock screen take?

Please also get a copy of Hard Disk Sentinel (portable version available) - run that- check both disks- result on the GUI - green is good.

@MaloK - thoughts on 'slow performance' given the limited info? Thanks.
From what I've got from the start of the thread.

    Verify / Replace CMOS battery

Insure that all Elements are Active in BIOS / UEFI, Use a bootable USB OS to verify if the Devices can be loaded there.

If there is material defect in the network components. It could ampere on other components: Like the Chipset and PCIE buses.

Also there could be drivers misconfiguration / corruption etc...

I would probably try a clean install on another Drive to eliminate as much variables as possible.

Make sure the machine is "really good" on all aspects, before going on a Software Crusade to recover a corrupted Windows installation.

    Hi

Device Manager does not show any Ethernet Connection, there was an Ethernet connection showing
but after I ran the driver update from the Recovery Disk it dissapeared.

I have just posted on the Medion forum looking for a MOBO driver download, hopefully one will show up.

    Try Drivermax as I suggested.

    Download, install, scan.

However, if the device is not shown at all, that may be a different problem- not just a missing driver.

I have downloaded and burned to disk the Hiroms iso, perhaps this may find issues... But
how do I use it. I have booted to the DVD and I am currently at the Hiroms start screen but
have no idea where to go from here,
When you have booted from Hiren's disk you should see a Windows desktop display.
What does the Device Manager show - anything for ethernet? Does ethernet work?
Do programs launch as quickly as you were used to?

    Post 27.. please try

Also try booting to Safe Mode with Networking. Again, anything in Dev. Manager for ethernet? Any ethernet connection?

Seems your NIC isn't being recognised properly by Windows.
