    Surfshark VPN Download Speed Much Lower


    Windows 10 64-bit

    I've been using Surfshark for quite a while but recently discovered the download speed with it engaged is much lower than the download speed when it is not engaged. A few comparison numbers: 188 vs 402, 202 vs 781, 229 vs 754. I know using a VPN will reduce the speed, but these reductions are out of line.

    I've been getting help from the Surfshark support folks, but so far no valid solution.

    Any ideas how to correct this problem?

    With vpn you connect to their server that can be down the road or the other side of the world so it seems its proberley connecting to a slow vpn or one miles away is there any way to choose a server?

    You are correct, the desired server can be selected. If I select the 'Fastest location' or the Orlando server (closest to me), either way it connects to Orlando.
