Trouble Creating Local FTP Fileserver
Hello
Longtime windows user here trying something new. I cannot for the life of me get an FTP fileserver up and running on W10. It is for while-shooting uploading of camera photos to computer. The camera supports wireless FTP. In the meantime, I'm using a smartphone's hotspot and FTP app for to-phone transfer, which works fine, but having the PC FTP working would be ideal.
Here's what I've done so far:
Internet Information Services Manager add ftp site (name PhotoNet, Physical path C:\Users\<user>\Pictures\PhotoNet
IP address assigned to IPv4 address through ethernet, port 21, no SSL,
anonymous authentication, allow anonymous users permissions read write
Firewall for FTP allowed
I test using another windows PC in file explorer address ftp://<ip>.
I get a popup for entering credentials. I select Log on Anonymously, enter, and the window just resets as if the log on was a failure.
I also test using my phone on the same network with Solid Explorer adding FTP location. Connection failed.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you!!!!! <3
Edit: Solved! Adding permissions to the shared folder so "Everyone" can read and write
