WiFi [un][known] connections keep coming back, no removal.

    Windows 10 21H2 build 19044 1645
    HP Laptop 14-dq2035cl ; Product 20Ja2UA@ABA ; SN 5CD122BWJW ; Bios Rev: F.13

WiFi [un][known] connections keep coming back, no removal.
In my Windows 10 Wifi section, I have some unknown and known connections that will not stay away.
Some do not have a remove button, how can I prevent a few connections to not come back?
My spectrum 2G and 5G connections have been replaced by spectrumsetup-[two digit number].
While that one auto-connects, my former 2G or my former 5G keeps coming back into attempted play.

Because this is causing a little havoc within my network, I am also posting in bleepingcomputer.

I wouldn't mind the 00-2G and the 00-5G just sitting, doing nothing.
It's just that sometimes the cancelled-by-Spectrum 00-5G connection worms its way into my WiFi, and causes a little bit of a hiccup.
I can see it in my lower right notifications taskbar now and then.

You can create a block or allow list for Wi-Fi networks you do not want to see or ever connect too.

When tuning you car radio do you ever get upset because there are a multitude of signals that your radio picks up, same. as your tv? The same happens with Wifi, the radio/modem in your computer is going to see all radios sending beacons but only you knowing the key to said beacon will let you connect.

Exactly what is the problem? Do you just mean that undesired networks appear in this list?

    "Remove"? Where are you looking?

Are you saying that you renamed some networks or what?
    What hiccup?
Windows does not create the networks you detect.
I suggest you check what networks your router is generating.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

    FYI:

Remove unwanted profiles that you have connected to:

Delete Wireless Network Profile in Windows 10

Add nearby networks to blocked filter list:

Add or Remove Wireless Network from Filter in Windows 10

    Get their SSID's here:

WifiInfoView - WiFi Scanner for Windows 10/7/8/Vista

Disable SSID Broadcast via your router. Check router settings for that.

Note that if you follow all his instruction to the letter...

Yours will disappear from the list too.

If your router is using the same ssid for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, simply name one different. then you can choose which band to connect to. That if if your router has "Use different names and passwords for 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi"

The other stuff I posted relates to networks other than yours.
