    Adding to router's firewall blacklist


    I would like to:
    "You can also try just adding xxx.x.xxx.xx [a specified address] to your router's firewall blacklist (both TCP and UDP)"
    but don't have an idea how to start. Any help?
    (Sorry for utter ignorance. I have a vague memory that I don't need to know anything specific about the router (brand, model, whatever) and can begin with a generic weblink .. .. ??)

I have a modem, and a netgear nighthawk R7000 router. I do not use the modem for wireless, as I have a router. Does my modem's firewall need to be on or does the router take care of that? And, is windows firewalll not good enough?
