    Three Bonjour Errors – Daily


    I’m getting 3 errors in the Event log upon startup every day. They seem to be related to the time I switched routers (and IP addresses).

    In this sequence:
    1. mDNSCoreReceiveResponse: Received from 10.0.0.253
    2. mDNSCoreReceiveResponse: ProbeCount 1; will deregister
    3. Local Hostname Home-Desk.local already in use;

    I am not seeing any impact on my system although I’m not sure that Bonjour is being used. I would love to clean this up.

    You may get an intimidating "error" message from Apple inferring the world will end because Bonjour is not installed. Ignore.

    Removal is the ideal way to go. Bonjour is just another excuse for Apple to make your device phone home about your activities, under the guise that Apple is providing some additional service.

Uninstall Bonjour service
